Consumer Energy Alliance Energy Day

October 13th, 2010

WASHINGTON, October 13, 2010 — On Capitol Hill today, the Consumer Energy Alliance

(CEA) will host its 4th annual Energy Day, and release its latest report on ways American business sectors are implementing sustainability initiatives. The event will kick off with the firstever Sustainability Forum, featuring commentary from leading experts and business executives on how myriad business sectors and municipal governments have advanced initiatives aimed at boosting energy efficiency, conservation and sustainability. Among the speakers will be the International Window Film Association (IWFA), a key contributor to the sustainability report. The event, which begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Senate’s Kennedy Caucus Room includes more than 40 members of Congress serving on the host committee, and nearly 30 companies, organizations and municipal governments will be represented.

CEA Energy Day brings together consumers, businesses, manufacturers, agricultural organizations, retirees, transportation, energy providers and municipal governments to discuss energy strategies and their role in helping to create jobs, revitalize the economy and improve our nation’s energy security. This year’s Sustainability Forum will introduce a discussion on how myriad business sectors and municipal governments have advanced initiatives aimed at boosting energy efficiency, conservation and sustainability. CEA’s Sustainability

Report — which will be officially released at the forum — will contain best practices and achievements from every sector of the American economy in their pursuit of more effective energy management practices.

“Energy Day provides a unique stage for business leaders, government officials and their staff to share ideas on the direction that our nation’s energy policy is headed and discuss the immediate concerns of American consumers,” said CEA president David Holt. “With some areas of the nation facing 15 percent or more in unemployment rates, there should be a common sense of urgency felt throughout the business community, as well as in Washington, for developing comprehensive energy policies that will help get Americans back to work, and CEA’s broad-based membership will be echoing that sentiment on Capitol Hill today.”

The IWFA is dedicated to educating consumers, businesses and government agencies on the energy efficiency and cost savings of window film. Through its works with the more than 6,000 local window film dealers and installers in the United States, the IWFA also supports job creation and the economic growth of small businesses. “CEA is a great opportunity to debunk common misconceptions about window film and address government leaders about its key benefits,” said Darrell Smith, executive director of IWFA. “We are excited for the opportunity to take part in the Sustainability Forum as we all push to lessen the consumption of traditional sources and reduce our carbon footprint.”

Home Window Tinting: The green alternitive

July 29th, 2010

While you are waiting for the windfall that will pay for all new windows for your house, you can still reap many of the benefits of low-E coated glass by applying one of the several types of window film to your panes. A plastic film with low-E coating can reduce heat loss through old windows by 40%.  You can effectively eliminating the waste produced by replacement windows as well as reducing your energy costs.

Flipped one way, the film keeps solar radiation out in hotter regions. Flipped the other way in cold climates, it reflects heat back inside. For those who are particularly thrifty, it is a great DIY project. Or you can pay to have the film professionally installed by Absolute Perfection.

Government bidding against small business

July 19th, 2010

The link I have posted guides you to Carroll County’s government page and is a bid result of a contract they had out to bid. Once you notice who the apparent low bidder is, go ahead and Google that name. Look at their website and read “about us”. Now tell me how a government run “Enterprise” can basically sell itself back to a government agency? Also, please explain how other legit companies are supposed to compete against a company that has prisoners as employees. Now don’t get me wrong, I agree with prepping inmates for the real world so they can be a helping cause once out, but this is helping nobody. Not to mention, look at the poor people that have lived their lives as a “good” citizen and have now lost their jobs because their company is basically competing against prisoners. What is wrong with America? Also on a side not, that “Enterprise” had an “unaudited” revenue of 59.9 million in 2009. The size of this contract is not much, but that is not my point. The fact that this can exist is crazy.

First Annual Geoshield Dealer Conference

September 14th, 2009

This past weekend I attended Geoshield’s first annual dealers meeting in New Orleans La. I had a chance to speak with  some of the largest dealers in the south.  While there Geoshield educated us on their new Lumenesse Solar safety film, which is the only solar safety film on the market to pass the ASTM E330 impact test. http://www.geoshieldusa.com/Lumenessetest.pdf This is an amazing product, not only can it protect but also has 55% total solar energy rejection.  I am very impressed and feel there is a high demand for this product on store fronts that have direct sun exposure.

In addition I experenced the authentic luessiana culture, with great food, musice and fellowship.

To top it all off Absolute Perfection was awarded  Dealer of the Year which I was very honored to accept!
